Every so often I find that a particular NOW moment presents something that stops me in my tracks, causing me to think, “Oh yeah, I’m alive!”.
A distant roar caught my ear and struck me as the low hum of vehicle traffic or that of heavy machinery.
Pausing to listen closely I realized the low din was the wind whipping through the bare trees of the forest.
Thinking back to my days as a young saxophonist, I knew intimately the method by which this sound of nature was being produced.
Wind vibrating wood. Totally natural. Totally serene. Totally captivating.
So simple yet profound.
How many other instances of simple profundity do I miss?
Not many I hope so long as I’m paying attention to the NOW.
