The NOW can play tricks.

Tricks like convincing us that something MUST be done right NOW! or else…

Except the things that must be done right now,

The dire emergencies,

Just happen.

We grab onto a branch instinctively before falling down a ravine.

We swerve to avoid a potential collision.

We duck when a foul ball is hit in our direction.

The tasks which actually REQUIRE immediate action just happen.

Everything else is secondary.

Secondary to what?

Secondary to the breath.

Tertiary to mindfulness.

Quaternary to awareness.

What MUST be done right now?

As it turns out, not very much.
